To explore my growing interest with projection mapping , I decided to teach myself Resolume Arena and built my own serial to midi visual mixer. To build the visual mixer I used an Arduino connected to my sensors to send data through Python to my projection software. Each button correlates to a layer and preset in Resolume. The potentiometers control the opacity sliders for each layer allowing me to crossfade between designs. I laser cut the box design out of clear acrylic because I love the way clear tech allows you to appreciate the work that goes into the electronic.
For Izzy Flores-Glasner’s new music video project “TENDERNESS IN UTRECHT” I became part of the band, using my mixer to live mix visuals projected onto the set while also sining backing vocals for the song. I worked with Izzy to help curate the visual story for the song and created a variety of effects to mix in in out building a routined sequence with the song while played live.
The Warp Floor is an interactive installation designed to turn the collective movement of dancers into a dance floor visual projected onto the floor below. My intention is to create a space where something as personal and as expressive as movement can become a collective influence and then become beautiful visuals. Dance floors are powerful places that create community and connection and I wanted to parallel that in my visuals I create. By placing a projector and sensor directly overhead of the dance floor I aim to build an interactive space that responds to and moves with the dancers below.
The goal of this artwork is to use live camera input and Media Pipe to track the position and movement variables of the participants below. Using this data in Touchdesigner where pre designed dynamic visual patterns will then be warped, pixelated and inverted by each dancer’s position data in real time. Each dancer’s position will glow around them inverting the colours of the visual. Movement across the floor will create dreamy light trails and waves of pixelated distortion around each person detected. As more dancers take the floor these trails and waves interact creating more interest in the visuals. The effects chosen seek to provide clear feedback visible to the dancer in real time and incites play in the participants. The visuals will be bright and dynamic to align the aesthetics with the culture and spaces that inspire the artwork.

These are a few of my favourite clips of my projection mapping from the Attitude And Motion music video performed by Zoe. I was brought on by the director to project onto the set and use video clips and live camera to create a 90s early 2000s music video style backdrop.
I used live camera and delay to create endless loops playing with different effects and distortion. Also taking footage from a prior shoot day to create a video wall behind the artist.

Vision of a Dream is a short film visualizer where I aimed to create dreamlike ethereal spaces inviting the viewer into the psyche of the main character.
Dreams inspire a lot of my work, I wanted the project to be a visual depiction explaining the ideal daydream state the main character is always is getting lost in. I wanted to create surreal spaces, putting together sets with dynamic backgrounds and using projection and movement to bring the day dream alive.
Throughout my journey creating visuals I have used Resolume Arena and my mixer to control visuals and lighting for live performances at various venues, events and for film. I continue to grow my skills designing audio reactive visual motifs for different musical aesthetics.
Utilizing different softwares such as After Effects, Cinema 4D, Blender and Touchdesigner to create these visuals. I continue to explore new and more advanced approaches to lighting and projector setups controlling multiple outputs at one time and further innovate my practice.
